Rachel Yoder is an Arts Fellow in the Nonfiction Writing Program at the University of Iowa. In addition to Defunct, she’s also written for the New York Times, Sun Magazine, Kenyon Review Online, Opium Magazine, and other online and print publications. Her work is forthcoming in Dzanc’s anthology Best of the Web 2010. She misses the socially accepted public nudity of her childhood, when, on a summer’s evening after her bath, she would stand front and center on the porch on Pine Street and fling off her towel, then run around in the grass screaming.
