Angelo R. Lacuesta is a Filipino writer who has won numerous national honors for his fiction including the Palanca, Philippine Graphic, and the NVM Gonzalez Awards. He has written three collections of short stories, and his books have won the Madrigal-Gonzalez Best First Book Award and two National Book Awards. He has been a recipient of various international grants and fellowships, including a residency at the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. He is the literary editor of The Philippines Free Press. There are several defunct items in his life (mechanical watch, VHS player, PlayStation 2, postcards, pancreas, The Smiths) and he is patiently waiting for them to go back in style.
