Daniel Light is a screenwriter, blogger and film-maker, none of which are his day job. He grew up in Godalming, Surrey, within a stone's throw of London, where he spent a happy childhood throwing stones at London. He now lives in Hackney, East London, but doesn’t watch Eastenders or any other television because it’s all awful, except, obviously, for The Wire. He has a lovely wife of six years and two delightful young daughters, who are the least defunct things in his life. He is #VHSMovieClub. Find him at www.daniellight.co.uk. What’s defunct in his life? “Shopping. The only thing I shop for is trousers. I buy jeans, and wear them into the ground. Maybe that’s why I like charity shops so much – they’re kind of like anti-shops. Oh and TV. So definitely TV Shopping. Except that TV Shopping was never really ‘funct’ in the first place.”
