Maggie Kast’s lifetime career as modern dancer and choreographer is now defunct, as is her life as wife and mother of small children. Alive and well are three of them and her book, The Crack between the Worlds: a dancer's memoir of loss, faith and family, published by Wipf and Stock. Her stories and essays have passed into the limbo of published paper magazines, such as The Sun, Nimrod, America, Image and Writer's Chronicle. She's currently at work on a novel, excerpts of which have appeared in Crave It and Seek It, anthologies about food and sleep from Red Claw Press. Another excerpted story, “The Hate That Chills,” is forthcoming on HuffPost.
