Betsy Emdin has a MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College. A section of her thesis about her family life was broadcast, anonymously, on This American Life. She occasionally works at the State Theatre, a nonprofit art house, in Traverse City, Michigan that still boasts a balcony, plush seats, and a red velvet curtain. Bliss would be to taste once more her grandma’s warm from the oven wild blueberry muffins, and to go with her cousins on a spooky late night car ride on the two-tracks that surrounded Long Lake. Those trails are now subdivisions.
